Why most data training doesn’t stick

Generic courses teach which buttons to press using made-up data about a made-up company. A month later, most of it is forgotten and people go back to asking for a spreadsheet.

Training sticks when it is built around the decisions people make every week and the reports they already use. That is how we design every course.

Who it’s for

  • Managers who need to read and question the numbers in front of them
  • Teams moving from spreadsheets to dashboards
  • Staff who have started using AI tools without clear guidance
  • Organisations that invested in reporting and want people to use it

How a course is put together

  1. Understand the team

We talk to the people being trained and their managers about the decisions they make and where they get stuck.

  2. Build from your data

Exercises use your own reports and figures, not sample data.

  3. Deliver

Practical sessions, as a single course or a series, pitched at the people in the room.

  4. Follow up

A short follow-up session to answer the questions people only find once they start using what they learned.

Courses we run

  • Data literacy for managers and non-specialists
  • Hands-on training in your reporting and dashboard tools
  • Using AI safely and effectively at work
  • Course notes and follow-up support after each session

Questions

Something else? Ask us directly.

What is data literacy training?

It teaches people to read, question and use data in their everyday work: what a figure includes, how to compare like with like, and when a number looks wrong. It is about good habits, not advanced statistics.

Who is the training for?

Anyone who works with numbers or reports, from managers and team leaders to staff who produce reports. We pitch each course at the people attending.

Can the training use our own data?

Yes, and we recommend it. Training on your own reports and figures is what makes it stick.

Do you offer AI training for staff?

Yes. It covers where AI tools genuinely help, how to check what they produce, and what information must never be entered into them, in line with your own policies.

Is there support after the course?

Yes. Every course comes with notes and a follow-up session to answer the questions that come up once people start applying what they learned.
